Leicester City have reportedly braced themselves for a summer bid from Barcelona for playmaker Riyad Mahrez.

Recent speculation claimed that the Foxes were preparing a new contract for the 25-year-old, who has scored 14 goals and assisted a further 10 in the Premier League this term.

However, the league leaders have become increasingly resigned to losing the Algerian amid growing interest from the Spanish and European champions, according to The Mirror.

The report adds that the Catalans would be prepared to pay up to £25m for Mahrez.

The attacker recently expressed his desire to one day play alongside Barca talisman Lionel Messi.
