Barcelona have reportedly not been put off by the recent biting allegations surrounding Luis Suarez as they prepare to approach Liverpool with an £80m player-plus-cash offer.
The 27-year-old could face a lengthy ban by FIFA after he was accused of biting the shoulder of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's 1-0 win in Natal at the World Cup on Tuesday.
Before the incident, both Barcelona and Real Madrid were linked with summer swoops for the prolific striker, who scored 31 goals for Liverpool last season.
According to The Mirror, while Madrid's interest has cooled following the controversy, Barcelona remain in the market for Suarez and could offer Alexis Sanchez as part of the deal.
Reports have claimed that Liverpool could be tempted to sell their prized asset as they may have run out of patience with Suarez, who has been punished for similar biting incidents twice before in his career.
It is believed that Pedro could also be included in the exchange alongside Sanchez, who is said to be attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
