Barcelona winger Pedro has admitted that he is happy to play a bit-part role for Spain.
The 25-year-old has scored five goals in his last two games for his country, but is expected to be on the bench for Tuesday's World Cup qualification clash with France.
"There are players like [Fernando] Torres and Andreas Iniesta, who are very experienced. I'm happy to contribute to the team's success and scoring my first hat-trick was special, but it is more important that we secure the three points," he told the Spanish Football Federation.
"All I am trying to do is to take advantage of the opportunities that come my way, and to ensure the coach has confidence in me when he needs to call on me."
Pedro has made 21 appearances for his country.
