Barnsley lead Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in this afternoon's Yorkshire derby from the Championship.
A powerful volley from Marcus Pedersen has given the hosts their slender advantage at the break, but Wednesday have provided a threat of their own throughout.
Both sides created chances in the opening 11 minutes as Roger Johnson headed wide from a tight angle for Wednesday, before Tom Kennedy whipped a free kick just past the post.
The hosts did take the lead five minutes later with a strike from Pedersen. The striker fired his first effort against the post before receiving the ball again from Paddy McCourt and thumping the ball past Chris Kirkland.
Wednesday improved after that and kept the ball well, although their only real chance came from Jeremy Helan who tricked his way into the box and fired into the side-netting.
Michail Antonio then found space on the right twice in quick succession but no Wednesday player could get on the end of his crosses.
McCourt almost made it two just before the break, firing wide after a solo run.
