Live text coverage of the South Yorkshire derby between Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, courtesy of Sports Mole.

Two struggling South Yorkshire clubs met in Saturday's first Football League game as as Barnsley hosted Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell.

Both sides remain in the bottom three after a somewhat predictable 1-1 draw, with Wednesday still winless in the league this year.

Read how it all unfolded in our minute-by-minute updates below.

Morning folks! The first game in England today sees two clubs in the bottom three meet in an early six-pointer in the season. It's Barnsley vs. Wednesday and team news is coming right up...
BARNSLEY XI: Butland; Kennedy, Cranie, M'voto, Wiseman; Fox, Mellis, McCourt, Perkins; O'Grady, Pedersen
WEDNESDAY XI: Kirkland; Buxton, Zayatte, Roger Johnson, Reda Johnson; Jermaine Johnson, Olofinjana, McPhail, Helan; Antonio, Fryatt
SUBS! And the two benches today:

BARNSLEY: Hassell, O'Brien, Dawson, Scotland, Jennings, Cywka, Etuhu
WEDNESDAY: Martinez, Llera, Palmer, Nuhiu, Coke, Lavery, Maghoma

The biggest news from the two lineups comes from Wednesday as Seyi Olofinjana starts after today completing his move to the Owls. He spent a brief spell with the club on loan last season and now joins full time after being released by Hull at the end of last season.
Barnsley continue with the same side that beat Middlesbrough last week. That win took Barnsley off the foot of the table but not out of the bottom three.
Wednesday make two changes to the side that drew with Bolton last time out. Olofinjana comes in for Giles Coke while Jermaine Johnson takes the place of Jose Semedo, who was sent off at the Reebok.
REFEREE WATCH! The man in charge today is Robert Madley, who in his last two games has shown a red card in each.
When these two sides met last year, Wednesday won both games, with O'Grady scoring the winner in this exact fixture a year ago. The frontman now lines up for the Tykes and comes into the game on a high after bagging a brace in the last match.
Just before kickoff, let me point you in the direction of our commentary of Palace vs. Arsenal in the Premier League. I recommend that you join Jack Prescott and open this link in a new tab.
PREDICTION! I best make my prediction before KO so here goes. I can't separate the two sides and am going for a 1-1 draw. If I had to pick one of the two then I favour Wednesday, just.
The two sides are out on the pitch and we're ready to go. Oakwell is far from full but it's a good atmosphere nonetheless.
KICKOFF! Wednesday, in their home colours of blue-and-white stripes, get us underway.
Zayatte fouls O'Grady from behind and Barnsley have a free kick about 30 yards out, just left of centre...
Norwich loanee Fox lines it up but can only wallop it into the Wednesday wall.
There should be plenty of goals today. Barnsley have the worst defence in the Football League while Wednesday are yet to keep a clean sheet. 0-0 it remains!
M'voto under a bit of pressure from Fryatt but his header back is powerful enough to reach Butland.
Antonio's hit-and-hope cross is blocked and the visitors have their first corner. McPhail swings it in with pace but Perkins is there to head clear.
CHANCE! Big opening for the Owls as Reda picks out Roger (both called Johnson) at the back post. The former Wolves centre-back is behind Butland so just has to get it on target but can't find the net from an angle. It gets worse for the defender as he clatters into the post behind the goal. He stays down for a while but is back up on his feet in no time.
CLOSE! Wednesday give away a cheap free kick that Kennedy curls for the corner and just misses out as the ball zips onto the roof of the net.
Cranie gets a talking to for scything down Antonio, who was looking to streak away down the right.
Butland almost with a massive clanger as he drops McPhail's free kick under no pressure whatsoever. Fortunately for the England man, there's no Wednesday player alert enough to pounce on the loose ball.
GOAL! BARNSLEY 1-0 WEDNESDAY (PEDERSEN)
WHAT A ROCKET! Wednesday give the ball away cheaply and allow Pedersen to run at goal. His first effort is a rising shot that cannons back off the post. The ball falls to McCourt, who gives it straight back to the Norwegian, who this time hits the target with a powerful, dipping volley that gave Kirkland absolutely no chance.
Briefly away from Oakwell, there's another early kickoff in the Championship and another Yorkshire derby as Huddersfield host Leeds. It's just started at the John Smith's Stadium and I'll keep you posted with any goals or incidents there.

UPDATE! A goal inside the first two minutes at Huddersfield as Matt Smith heads home Alex Mowatt's corner to put the visitors in front.
Johnson tries to emulate Pedersen's volley with a speculative effort from 20 yards that loops a good few yards wide.
I don't think I've mentioned this yet today but Wednesday are the only team in the second tier yet to score a win this season. All seven of their points have come from draws.
UPDATE: Huddersfield equalise inside the opening 10 minutes as Danny Ward thumps home from distance.
SIDE-NETTING! Helan tricks his way into the box before unleashing a powerful shot that crashes into the side-netting.
Barnsley work the ball nicely to Kennedy on the left. He crosses low into a dangerous area but there's no red shirt coming in at the back post to finish.
Wednesday have improved significantly in the last 10 minutes or so, having around 70% possession.
The hosts clear a corner and start a counter-attack. McCourt switches it to O'Grady who could find Pedersen but delays the pass so Zayatte is able to get back and cover.
Wednesday have a pair of half-chances with Antonio. First the explosive forward had a shot blocked before his cross harmlessly bobbled past the far post.
Clever short corner from the hosts presents McCourt with the ball on the edge of the area. He skips past the first man before his drive at goal is blocked.
CLOSE! McCourt scored a wonder solo goal against Boro last week and he's almost done it again at the same Oakwell end. He beat the first challenge with a lovely nutmeg before putting the ball around the next defender and fizzing a shot across goal and wide. Super stuff.
Just the one minute of time added on at the end of the first half. Jones will want to get his team in and shake them up.
The half-time whistle is about to be blown but we're still playing as Pedersen has just clattered into Kirkland after a mighty punt upfield from Butland. Replays show that Roger Johnson actually shoved him a little bit so it wasn't really the goalscorer's fault.
HALF-TIME: BARNSLEY 1-0 WEDNESDAY
The hosts lead thanks to Pedersen's powerful volley. It was a fine finish from the Norwegian after his initial effort came back off the post. Reda Johnson was careless in possession to present Barnsley's number 10 with the chance so the visitors only have themselves to blame. At the moment, it doesn't look like Wednesday's winless start to the season will end today.
As things stand, Barnsley will be moving out of the bottom three for the first time in ages and up to 19th.
We've just seen some shots of Kirkland wincing in pain after finally coming off the pitch. Pedersen's forearm swung into his ribs and I wouldn't be surprised if there's one or two broken. Barnsley don't actually have a substitute keeper so it would have been interesting if the same bad luck had happened to Butland. Wednesday do have Arsenal loanee Damian Martinez on the bench so he may have to come on.
STAT ATTACK! Both sides have had six shots on target and Pedersen's exquisite volley is the only one of the 12 to hit the target. Wednesday are edging the possession with 52% of the ball.
So Wednesday may have to bring on Martinez. Elsewhere on the visitors' bench, the likes of Jacques Maghoma and Atdhe Nuhiu could provide the biggest threat.
Kirkland has come out for the second half so it's obviously not a broken rib. In fact, neither manager has made a change.
McCourt again dances past a pair of challenges before his clipped cross to the back post is headed out. The ball comes the way of Perkins but he can't really bring it under control to get a shot away.
It's all Barnsley at the start of the second half as O'Grady bursts forward unchallenged before losing momentum and checking back. Kennedy's cross is headed out for a corner but it comes to nothing.
CHANCE! The game is becoming increasingly stretched and Barnsley are lookign dangerous on the counter. This time it's Perkins who streaks forward but he can't test Kirkland as he blazes over.
WEDNESDAY SUB: The visitors make a change and it is Nuhiu who comes on up front in place of Jermaine Johnson.
Blimey, in the last five minutes Wednesday haven't had the ball in the attacking third of the pitch once. 60% of the time it's been in the middle third, the other 40% in the Wednesday third.
PENALTY APPEAL! Huge appeals for a penalty from the Wednesday players and they're bang on as M'voto clearly uses his hand to punch Reda Johnson's long throw out for a corner. Clear penalty but Madley says no.
SAVE! It's a first shot on target from Wednesday as Antonio sprints down the pitch before picking out Nuhiu in the middle. His shot takes a slight deflection with Butland making a good stop.
GOAL! BARNSLEY 1-1 WEDNESDAY (FRYATT)
Wednesday's pressure pays off as Helan's lump forward finds Fryatt all on his own, with M'voto playing the striker onside. He finishes with aplomb with another sublime volley that was past Butland before he could react. It could be Fryatt's last appearance for the Owls as his loan is due to run out after this game. What a way to go!
SAVE! Wednesday should be in front! Antonio is all alone in the middle and volleys at goal but straight at Butland, who does well to parry it away.
BARNSLEY SUB: The home side make their first change as Dale Jennings comes on for Mellis on the left of midfield.
YELLOWS! Reda Johnson, especially, is lucky to still be on the pitch after squaring up to Pedersen. The Norwegian was late but there was no need for that reaction. It wasn't really a headbutt from the left-back but he did lean his head forward and could have easily seen red. Both men are only booked.
JUST WIDE! McCourt has been a thorn in Barnsley's side all afternoon and he's almost created a second for the hosts by weaving left then right before his cross-cum-shot was inches ahead of Pedersen's far=post lunge.
McCourt is then bundled into about 20 yards out. Fox blasts the free kick low but it's straight at Kirkland who holds well in front of several bodies.
UPDATE! It remains 1-1 between Huddersfield and Leeds up at the John Smith's Stadium while in the Premier League Palace and Arsenal are goalless at half time.
BARNSLEY SUB: Surely McCourt is injured or fatigued as he is taken off for Kelvin Etuhu. The former has been excellent all afternoon and was on course for my man of the match. If no-one shines in the final 20 minutes then he might still get it.
UPDATE! Arsenal go ahead at Palace inside two minutes of the second half as Mikel Arteta strokes home a penalty after Serge Gnabry had been brought down in the box.
Back to Oakwell and we're inside the final quarter of an hour now. Can either side find a winner? I predicted 1-1 before the game started and I really wouldn't be surprised if that's how it stayed.
Nuhiu is certainly a threat in the air and he's just headed a yard or so wide from Buxton's deep cross. Wednesday looking the more likely to nick it at the moment as we enter the final 10 minutes.
UPDATE! A third goal in West Yorkshire and it's Huddersfield who have turned it around as Tom Lees scores an own goal. Second after it was almost 3-1 as Stead rounded the keeper but hit the post.
WEDNESDAY SUB: Goalscorer Fryatt's afternoon is over as Caolan Lavery takes his place.
BARNSLEY SUB: The other goalscorer is taken off as Jason Scotland takes the place of Pedersen in the Tykes' attack.
Free kick to Barnsley about 25 yards out in a good position for a shot as Antonio barges over Fox. Nuhiu is booked for dissent in the aftermath.
Fox touches it off for Scotland who is allowed a touch before firing at goal. It's deflected behind for a corner that comes to nothing.
FOUR minutes of time added on at the end. It's Wednesday on the attack.
McPhail goes for goal with a 25-yard free kick but never threatens the target.
UPDATE! They're back level in the West Yorkshire derby as Dexter Blackstock scores on his Leeds debut to make it 2-2.
FULL-TIME: BARNSLEY 1-1 WEDNESDAY
It finishes 1-1 (just as I predcited) at Oakwell and that's about fair. Wednesday pick up their eighth draw of the season as they remain winless.
