Inverness Caledon Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron has revealed that the club have given permission for Barnsley to talk to their manager Terry Butcher.
The Championship outfit had hoped to move for Sean O'Driscoll, but the former Nottingham Forest boss rejected the chance to boss the club.
"We have given them permission to speak to Terry. We will be doing everything possible to ensure that Terry remains with the club and finishes what has been an incredible journey to date for us all," Cameron told reporters.
"Given our current position in the Scottish Premier League and the fact we have a Cup semi-final on the horizon it is inevitable that if any managerial positions come up our management team will no doubt be on the radar."
Barnsley, who have been without a manager since sacking Keith Hill at the end of December, are currently bottom of the Championship.
