Barnsley boss Keith Hill has suggested that Newcastle United should move quickly if they want to secure the signature of Jacob Butterfield.
The Magpies had been linked with the 21-year-old midfielder, whose contract is up at the end of the season.
Hill does not expect Butterfield to stay at Oakwell beyond the end of this season, but he has warned Newcastle that the player will go elsewhere if they continue to be indecisive.
"I know that teams are 100% trying to recruit Jacob," said Hill. "I'd endorse Newcastle actually making a decision."
Aston Villa had also been credited with interest in Butterfield, who has not played since January due to a knee ligament injury.
