Basel attacker Mohamed Elyounoussi has admitted that he was delighted to receive praise from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
On Wednesday night, Elyounoussi got on the scoresheet as Basel overturned an early deficit to register a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie between the clubs.
The Swiss outfit were eliminated 5-2 on aggregate, but Elyounoussi has acknowledged that Guardiola's gesture after the match 'meant a lot to him'.
The 23-year-old is quoted by Blick as saying: "Pep Guardiola came to me after the match and said I did a good job. That means a lot to me.
"Maybe we won because we had less pressure, that we had nothing to lose. They are perhaps the best team in the world."
The Moroccan international is allegedly a transfer target for Arsenal.
