Bayer Leverkusen coach Sami Hyypia has expressed his anger at the amount of fouls he felt Real Sociedad committed against his side in their Champions League clash on Tuesday evening.
Leverkusen won 1-0 thanks to Omer Toprak's second-half strike, but the Finnish boss was unhappy with how he thought La Real approached the game.
"I was angry that the referee didn't show any red cards after the harsh fouls of Sociedad, but the referee decides," Hyypia told reporters.
"I can't understand why Sociedad would do something like this in a match like that. They were eliminated anyway.
"[My] team showed character. First I thought we were tired but then we made our game. I said at the break that we would at least score one goal from a set piece."
Hyypia's side finished second to Manchester United in Group A.
