Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak has expressed his disappointment following his side's 4-0 defeat in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.
Two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and strikes from Blaise Matuidi and Yohan Cabaye have given PSG a commanding lead in their last-16 tie, and Toprak admits that Leverkusen were second best throughout the evening.
"Our performance during the first half was crucial but we played with fear and I really don't know why. We played very, very poorly during the first 45 minutes," UEFA.com quotes him as saying.
"We didn't win any duels and made life much too easy for them. In the second half we tried to fight a little bit more and sometimes it worked out, but in the end it was a very disappointing evening for us."
The second leg takes place at the Parc des Princes on March 12.
