The German Football Federation (DFB) will seek advice from FIFA in the aftermath of Stefan Kiessling's 'ghost goal' in Bayer Leverkusen's 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim last night.
Kiessling's header went wide of the post, but sneaked in through a hole in the net, and the goal was subsequently given.
Hoffenheim have lodged an appeal after the goal decided the Bundesliga match and the DFB have said that they will consult FIFA "to clarify the legal position for such cases internationally."
Kiessling said after the Bundesliga clash that he did not see his 'phantom goal'.
