Bayer Leverkusen forward Son Heung-Min has said that it was important for his side to bounce back with a win over Nuremberg after his side were thumped 5-0 by Manchester United in the Champions League.
South Korean striker Son was in inspired form for Leverkusen, scoring two goals as Bayer ran out 3-0 winners over the Franconians last weekend.
"It was very important because we suffered such a heavy loss on Wednesday night," Son told the Bundesliga's official website.
"That was only one game in a whole season, though, and we said to ourselves that we had to come back and show what we're capable of against Nuremberg.
"That worked well today, and because of that we picked up the three points."
The victory ensured that Leverkusen retained second spot in the league, with Borussia Dortmund trailing three points behind in third.
