Sports Mole previews Thursday's Women's Champions League quarter-final second leg between Rosengard and Bayern Munich, including team news, predictions and lineups.

Bayern Munich travel to Swedish outfit Rosengard on Thursday, where they meet in their second-leg Women's Champions League quarter-final tie.

The German side have a healthy 3-0 lead from the first encounter last Wednesday, leaving the home side needing a big turnaround.

Match preview

Rosengard, based in the Swedish city of Malmo, play their league action in the Damallsvenskan, which starts in April running through the summer. Therefore, the hosts come into this game having only played cup football.

Last time out Rosengard faced Kristianstad in the Svenska Cupen, which produced an entertaining 3-3 draw - Stefanie Sanders, Sanne Troelsgaard and Hanna Bennison getting on the scoresheet for the home side.

Head coach Jonas Eidevall will be disappointed with the result as he saw his side give up a 3-0 lead in that game.

Rosengard's Champions League campaign began back in December with the team playing five games so far, scoring 21 goals in this season's tournament.

The Damallsvenskan side have never proceeded further than the quarter-final stage in the Champions League, and have a lot of work to do to complete a turnaround against German giants Bayern Munich.

As for Thursday's visitors, they are leading the way in the Women's Bundesliga having won all 17 league games this season, giving them a five point lead over closest rivals Wolfsburg.

Six goals for Jens Scheuer's side last time out sunk bottom-side Duisburg, extending Bayern's winning streak in all competitions to an impressive 25 games, additionally giving Laura Benkarth her 14th league clean sheet of the season.

Bayern are on course to win the Bundesliga for the first time since the 2015-16 season, and a place in the Champions League last four would equal the furthest they have been in Europe's most prestigious club competition.

They are joint-second top scorers with Barcelona in this season's tournament scoring 18 goals, and will be looking to take more confidence by extending their aggregate score when they travel to Sweden on Thursday.

Team News

Rosengard will be without two first-team players for the visit of Bayern Munich - last season's top scorer Anna Anvegard as she recovers from a knee injury, and Ria Oling as she is ineligible for registration to play in the Champions League this season.

Troelsgaard and Jelena Cankovic are expected to feature and will be aiming to add to their four goals each in this season's competition.

There is no injury or suspension problems facing Scheuer for the second leg of this tie, with the same lineup as the first leg likely.

Top goalscorer for Bayern this season, Lea Schuller, with 11 goals in all competitions, is expected to lead the line for the German side.

Rosengard possible starting lineup:
Labbe; Berglund, Viggosdottir, Bjorn; Veje, Cankovic, Schough, Seger, Brown; Troelsgaard, Larsson

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Benkarth; Hegering, Wenninger, Ilestedt, Glas; Magull, Zadrazil, Dallmann; Buhl, Beerensteyn, Schuller

We say: Rosengard 1-3 Bayern Munich

The impressive winning streak the German league leaders are on should continue on Thursday with another win over their Swedish hosts, even though Scheuer is cautious of the potential threat Rosengard can cause.

The hosts will need to attack the game to overcome the 3-0 deficit on aggregate, which may leave them open at the back for Bayern to capitalise on.
