Bayern Munich have been forced to name academy coach Tom Starke in their Champions League squad.
After Manuel Neuer was ruled out until January with a fractured foot, it has left Bayern having to rely on Sven Ulreich and Christian Fruchtl to compete for the number-one position at the Allianz Arena.
However, with space still available in their European squad, manager Carlo Ancelotti has opted to hand a call-up to Starke, who had initially ended his playing career at the end of last season.
Starke fulfilled a similar role during pre-season, again due to the absence of Neuer, and the 36-year-old remains in with a chance of adding to his 10 appearances for the German giants.
On Wednesday night, Bayern face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes as they look to make it two wins from two games in Group B.
