Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels has admitted that Bayern Munich were the better team in tonight's Champions League final at Wembley.
The Bavarian outfit left it late to seal a fifth European crown, as Arjen Robben burst through to scoop past Roman Weidenfeller two minutes from time.
Despite being the better team in the first half, Hummels believes that Jupp Heynckes's men deserved their victory after Die Borussen's fitness began to wane.
"The game was really close but Bayern deserved it," BBC Sport quotes Hummels as saying.
"They were the better team in the second half. In the first 25 minutes we were the better team but could not score the goal we needed.
"We tired in the last few minutes, they get the cup and we don't. It's the hardest game you can lose."
Dortmund last won the trophy in 1997.
