Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has congratulated Bayern Munich on defeating his team to win the Champions League.
As the game looked to be heading into extra time with two minutes left to play, Arjen Robben burst through to break Die Borussen hearts and seal a fifth European title for the Bavarians.
Klopp said that his team showed signs of a long season taking its toll, but expressed pride regarding their run to the final.
"First of all congratulations to Bayern, as they won," Klopp told Sky Sports News. "After the game, you have to respect the result. It was a really hard season for us and I saw that from 75 minutes on.
"We deserved to be in the final, we showed this tonight. That is not the most important thing, but it is important.
"I've told the players that we will come back - maybe not to Wembley but we will try to come back to another final. That's what I told them."
Bayern lifted the Champions League trophy for the first time since 2001.
