Bayern Munich have confirmed that Robert Lewandowski will play no part in this evening's Champions League clash against Celtic in Glasgow.
The Poland international suffered a thigh injury during the Bavarians' 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig at the weekend.
As a precaution, manager Jupp Heynckes has opted not to risk the striker, particularly as the team face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
"If we had played against Real Madrid, he might have gone," chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club's official website.
"The coach does not want to risk anything as Saturday's game, which is very important for us, is in the back of his mind."
Lewandowski will be a miss for Bayern given that he has scored 10 goals in 10 Bundesliga outings, and one in the Champions League campaign.
The German outfit sealed a 3-0 win over Celtic in the reverse Group B fixture at the Allianz Arena earlier this month.
