Former Bayern Munich winger Mario Basler believes that Arjen Robben has to be dropped if the Bavarian outfit are to win the Bundesliga.
Bayern lost the top spot to Dortmund last weekend after drawing 1-1 at Hamburg, and have taken only four points from a possible nine since resuming after the winter break.
Robben has been suffering from groin problems this season and Basler believes the team has performed better without the Dutchman.
"It's crystal clear for me after the draw against Hamburg; Arjen Robben has to be dropped from the starting 11," the former German international wrote in his column for Sport1.
"Bayern were at their best before the winter break when the Dutchman wasn't around due to his injury. He always does the same thing. He gets the ball, cuts inside, and then shoots or loses the ball without tracking back.
"It doesn't matter whether he's a star. It's all about the team. Bayern could end second or third in the table if they don't make change, and that won't be enough for them."
Robben, 28, signed for the Bundesliga giants from Real Madrid in 2009.
