Bayern Munich's director of sport Christian Nerlinger has admitted that their Bundesliga title hopes are over following defeat at Bayer Leverkusen yesterday.
Munich's failure, coupled with Borussia Dortmund's victory over Mainz, means that BVB are now seven points clear at the Bundesliga's summit.
"From today, we certainly cannot talk about the title anymore," Nerlinger told Sky.
"If you look at the table, we have given Dortmund a perfect assist. The title is something we are no longer dealing with."
The loss at Leverkusen has put even more pressure on the Bavarian club to turn around a 1-0 deficit against FC Basel in the Champions League.
Doubts have been cast over the future of coach Jupp Heynckes but the 66-year-old is confident in his ability to turn the situation round.
"When you are coach of Bayern then you must be able to deal with such situations and show that you are in command of the situation," said Heynckes.
"With my experience, I can do that."
Since the turn of the year Bayern have taken just 11 points from seven league games, while Dortmund have taken maximum points from their last eight.
