Jerome Boateng has claimed that Bayern Munich will not allow complacency to become an issue when they take on Hamburger SV at the Allianz Arena on Friday.
Bayern start their pursuit of a fourth successive Bundesliga title against a Hamburg side which beat Karlsruher SC in the relegation playoff to stay in the league, but Boateng insists that it will not be an issue if Pep Guardiola's side fail to record an emphatic win.
"It is dangerous, they have nothing to lose," the defender told reporters. "But if we are aggressive and focused I won't worry. We won't underestimate Hamburg, however, or make them smaller than they are.
"The most important thing is to get a good start to the season and that is a win, no matter how it is achieved. Nevertheless, people must not expect us to destroy every opponent. We are human beings and it's absolutely normal to have some bad games as well."
Bayern thrashed Hamburg 8-0 when the two sides last met in February.
