Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted that the German Supercup is an important competition in order to start the new season with a winning spirit.
Klopp's side, who were second in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League last season, will take on the victors in both competitions Bayern Munich in the Supercup on Saturday.
"Without a doubt the Supercup is an important competition which is gaining in importance by the year," Klopp told Bundesliga.com.
"The comparable competition in other countries has enjoyed a lot of prestige for many years and we in Germany are now on the right path towards a similar situation.
"There's no question that we'll be attempting to win this first title of the season too. We're involved in it for the third season in a row after all, and we haven't won either of the last two."
The match will take place at Dortmund's home ground Signal Iduna Park.
