Mario Gotze has revealed that the Bayern Munich players are keen for Pep Guardiola to sign a new contract with the club.
Recent speculation has suggested that Guardiola is reluctant to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, and Manchester City are rumoured to be keen on approaching the Spaniard when his deal expires at the end of the season.
However, Gotze remains hopeful that his manager will decide against making the switch to the Premier League.
"You can't look into his head. The coach and the club have to decide. It's difficult to give a prognosis," the World Cup winner told reporters.
"We played successful football and the way that we play suits the team and football itself. A big part of that is because of the coach.
"We would be happy if he stayed. He's got a philosophy that suits us very well and that's why it would be a good thing if he stayed."
Guardiola dismissed reports linking him with Real Madrid in a press conference on Friday.
