Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has admitted that his side's DFB-Pokal semi-final defeat to Borussia Dortmund has left a "bitter taste".
Neuer was one of four Bayern players to miss their penalties last night as Dortmund earned a comfortable shootout victory following a 1-1 draw after extra time.
With their hopes of winning the treble now over, Neuer has claimed that Munich were the better team over 120 minutes and had enough chances to go through.
"The penalty shootout went badly, but it was a good reflection of the match," he told the club's official website. "We could have won it, not just in the 90 minutes, but also in extra time. We had it all under control, so we should have kept going and we had to score a second goal. It obviously leaves a bitter taste."
Bayern are back in action on Saturday when they face Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena in the Bundesliga.
