Former Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic has launched a stinging attack on Pep Guardiola's tenure at the Allianz Arena, which will come to an end when he joins Manchester City in the summer.
Under the Spanish coach's guidance, Bayern have won two Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal once and they remain on course to capture both of those trophies again this season.
However, having been knocked out at the semi-final stage of the Champions League for the third year running at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, Olic has branded Guardiola "a failure" that "won't be remembered".
"Guardiola was knocked out of three successive Champions League semis and by Bayern's high standards that's a failure," he told Sportske Novosti.
"Maybe people at Bayern will now say he won a haul of domestic trophies, but given the strength of the club's roster, that's an accomplishment they should take for granted.
"He came after [Jupp] Heynckes who won it all, hence Guardiola could only emulate his success. But he didn't and won't be remembered."
Guardiola has three more matches left in charge of the Bavarians before he heads to the Premier League.
