Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has admitted that he has recovered from the "darkest" period of his life.
In 2010, the 28-year-old was one of a number of French national team players who were caught up in a sex scandal with an under-age prostitute, although no charges were made.
Later that year he received a three-match ban from the French Football Association for his part in the nation's chaotic World Cup campaign.
However, Ribery has confessed that he is now enjoying life again.
"I will not lie to you, [2010] was horrible," he told Le Parisien. "Really. I lived the darkest period of my life.
"But it is behind me and I do not want to talk about it anymore. I have turned the page.
"I am a happy man again."
Ribery joined Bayern in 2007 from Marseille.
