Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said that the club are not getting carried away after a perfect start to the Bundesliga.
Bayern, who became the first German side to begin a season with eight wins yesterday, have 24 points and a goal difference of +24. Their nearest rivals, Eintracht Frankfurt, are five points adrift.
However, Rummenigge insists that the club remains grounded, even though reigning two-time champions Borussia Dortmund are now trailing by 12 points following a loss to third-placed Schalke.
"I don't get any pleasure at all [in seeing Dortmund lose]," he said. "We have had a great start to the season, Dortmund have had less of a good start.
"We have set a new record with eight wins in a row, but there will still not be any champagne on the flight back to Munich."
Next up for last season's beaten European finalists is a trip to Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday.
