Centre-back Daniel Van Buyten has signed a new 12-month contract with Bayern Munich.
The defender's previous deal was due to expire in the summer, leading to reports that he was preparing to leave the Allianz Arena on a free transfer.
However, the 34-year-old has ended that speculation by agreeing to new terms.
"We are delighted Daniel will continue playing for Bayern next season," sporting director Christian Nerlinger told reporters.
"We know exactly what we have with him. With his experience and qualities he will continue being an important part of our squad."
Van Buyten is currently on the sidelines with a broken foot.
