Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has admitted that it will be difficult for his side to defeat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Sunday.
The Lions will head to Munich for their ninth game of the Bundesliga season, having failed to win against Bayern away from home for 23 years.
"We have beaten Bayern a couple of times at home, but not in Munich," he said. "Well, it is partly because Bayern are always so strong at home.
"We have come close a couple of times, but just fallen a fraction short. But we have not given up hope yet and we will give it another try this Sunday.
"Obviously, when you visit the Allianz Arena, you need the ultimate perfect day to come away with anything from Munich, and you need Bayern not to have the same kind of day."
Bayern are currently at the top of the Bundesliga table with 24 points from eight matches, while Bayer are 12 points behind them in sixth.
