Bayern Munich have announced that they have finalised the transfer of Adelaide United youngster Nestory Irankunda.
The Bundesliga giants have been no strangers to investing in young foreign talent over the years, with the additions of Alphonso Davies and Mathys Tel the obvious examples in their current squad.
They have now moved to add an Australian prospect to the club's ranks in the form of Irankunda, who already has plenty of senior experience in the A-League.
Irankunda, who does not turn 18 years of age until February, has contributed nine goals and two assists from 39 appearances for the Australian side.
In revealing the signing, Bayern have revealed that Irankunda will continue to ply his trade Down Under for the foreseeable future, not moving to Germany until July 2024.
Speaking to the club's official website, director of youth development Jochen Sauer said: "We've had Nestory on our radar for some time and we're pleased we've reached an agreement with him and Adelaide United on a move to Munich for next summer.
"We'd like to thank the United management for the good talks. Nestory is an extremely quick winger, a strong dribbler and finisher with good drive towards goal.
"We're convinced by his potential and that he will take the next steps with us."
Such has been Irankunda's progression in the Australian top flight that he has already been handed a call-up to the senior national team.
Irankunda was part of the group for the fixtures that took place in March, but he is yet to make his debut for the Socceroos.
While no transfer fee has been revealed, Fabrizio Romano claims that it is in the region of £3m, plus add-ons.
