Blackburn Rovers have clinched the signing of Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste on loan until the end of the season.
The Lancashire club have captured the 23-year-old in a bid to avoid relegation and keep them in the Premier League. However, an option for a permanent move has not been included in the deal.
This is the first signing for manager Steve Kean in the winter window, which should lift spirits in the camp following captain Chris Samba's transfer request.
Modeste has netted three goals in 15 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season.
