Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has praised the club for keeping hold of striker Jordan Rhodes this summer.
The Scotland international, who scored 25 goals last season, had been linked with a move to the Premier League before signing a new two-year contract last month.
With Rhodes having scored during Blackburn's recent 1-1 draw with Stoke City in pre-season, Bowyer is hoping for more of the same from the forward this term.
"I think that shows the intent from the owners to keep hold of Jordan. His goal at the weekend against Premiership defenders was exceptional and he's up and running already so that's positive for us," he told the club's official website.
Rovers start the new Championship season on Friday at home to Cardiff City.
