Steve Bruce has emerged a as contender to become the new manager of Blackburn Rovers, should the club's owners call time on Steve Kean's tenure at Ewood Park, according to Sky Sports News.
The pressure on Kean mounted yesterday evening when his side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to local rivals Bolton Wanderers, a result that saw Rovers slip to the bottom of the table.
Rovers have only won two games this season and they have only won seven league matches under his guidance.
Bruce has been out of work since he was sacked by Sunderland earlier this month and was replaced by Martin O'Neill.
If the Venky's opt for a change in management, Bruce is believed to be on their shortlist.
