Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has insisted that he has the full backing of the Rao family.
The Scot came under immense fan pressure during a disappointing season, which culminated in their relegation from the Premier League.
Kean flew out to India for talks with the owners, but said that he did not have to fight to save his job.
"We had some great, open conversations and I'm delighted that we're moving forward again," said the 44-year-old. "I gave an assessment of where I felt last year there were a few things we could have done better.
"Obviously there were some games that could have gone our way and they didn't for whatever reason.
"We had as open a conversation as we always do - it's always the same format. That was carried on to another meeting in India and another meeting in Zurich and that brings us to where we are."
Kean took charge at Ewood Park following Sam Allardyce's sacking in December 2010.
