Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean was left "gutted" after his side's 2-1 defeat at Sunderland.
Two goals in the final seven minutes snatched the three points away from the struggling Lancashire club.
"It's tough because we looked at the clock with seven minutes to go we're thinking we've done enough defensively and to be sitting here with no points we're absolutely gutted," Kean told reporters.
"They way we defended considering the amount of changes we had to make, it was tough at the end just getting bodies on the pitch, people playing out of position I felt the lads battled away and deserved something from the game."
The loss has left Rovers 19th in the Premier League table.
