Tim Sherwood has turned down the opportunity to become manager of Blackburn Rovers, according to a report.
Rovers sacked Gary Bowyer after their 1-1 draw against Brentford, despite the club being four points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship, ending the 44-year-old's two-year tenure at Ewood Park.
Sherwood was fired by Aston Villa at the end of October, with the Midlands club rock-bottom of the Premier League, after claiming just four points from their opening 10 matches.
Despite his failure at Villa, the 46-year-old was offered the chance to return to the team he captained to the Premier League title in the 1994-95 season, but he has rejected Rovers' approach, according to The Mirror.
Paul Lambert is now the favourite to replace Bowyer at Ewood Park.
