Michael Appleton has described himself as "disappointed" after he was relieved of his duties as manager of Blackburn Rovers.
The club's owners opted to part company with the 37-year-old this morning, despite the fact that he had only been in charge at Ewood Park for 67 days.
"I am disappointed to be leaving Blackburn Rovers. I would like to thank the players and wish them all the best for the rest of the season," he said in a statement.
"I would also like to say thanks to the fans who have made me feel so welcome over the past few months."
Appleton has previously managed Portsmouth and Blackpool.
