Blackburn Rovers global advisor Shebby Singh believes that the board must 'tread carefully' when choosing a new manager following the strained relationship between the fans and former boss Steve Kean.
The Championship outfit remain in the hunt for a new coach following Kean's resignation last month.
"It has been a very, very difficult three weeks," BBC Sport quotes Singh as saying. "[It's] difficult in that we have to make a quick decision but at the same time we cannot rush into making such a decision because of recent history.
"That means taking time and, yes, I do understand that we need to make an appointment but it cannot just be any appointment because obviously after what happened we've got to tread very, very carefully."
Caretaker boss Eric Black has been in charge at Ewood Park since Kean's departure.
