Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has hailed the influence of Gael Givet after the club's 4-3 Carling Cup win over Newcastle.
Givet popped up with the winner in the final minute of extra time at Ewood Park, despite carrying a leg injury.
"Gael Givet encapsulates the whole spirit we have got here - he had a hamstring nick but would not come off," said Kean.
"He's a warrior, he has put his head where other people wouldn't put their feet. He was fantastic."
Newcastle came from 2-0 and 3-2 down during the match before Givet's last-gasp winner.
The 30-year-old has scored four goals for Blackburn since joining from Monaco in 2009.
Blackburn return to Premier League action against Norwich on Saturday afternoon.
