Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has admitted that he was delighted with his club's 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Tuesday.
The result moved Rovers six points clear of the relegation zone, and Kean praised his players after the club's second successive league victory.
"Not only have we got back-to-back wins but back-to-back clean sheets. We have been working hard on that aspect," Kean told reporters.
"There is still a lot of football to be played and we looked at this month as an opportunity to put points on the board and possibly put a little gap between the teams around us.
"Looking now at the last 11 games we have got 17 points and to keep chipping away and keep adding points is encouraging."
Blackburn are scheduled to face Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
