A brace from Jordan Rhodes helped Blackburn Rovers seal a 3-1 win away at Charlton Athletic in the Championship.
Defender Alex Baptiste, who was brought into the side following an injury to Marcus Olsson, almost broke the deadlock after just two minutes as his long-range volley required Stephen Henderson to tip it round the post.
However, the visitors found the breakthrough in the 15th minute as Rhodes latched onto the end of a Ben Marshall throw, carried the ball forward and slotted it in off the far post.
Blackburn doubled their lead only three minutes later as Craig Conway took advantage of some loose defending and fired the ball past the keeper.
Charlton almost hit back immediately, but Igor Vetokele's shot from Tony Watt's pass hit the bar in the home side's best chance of the half.
The home side got themselves back in the game after half time as Yoni Buyens coolly slotted in a penalty after Vetokele was taken down by Jason Steele.
Vetokele then almost brought them level, but he hit the crossbar for the second time with a bullet header, before Watt poked an effort narrowly wide.
Charlton could not sustain their pressure and Blackburn wrapped the game up in the 78th minute as Rhodes was found unmarked in the box and he headed calmly into the net.
