Blackburn Rovers have reportedly set their sights on signing Blackpool forward Jerry Yates, amid doubt over the future of Adam Armstrong.
The current Blackburn striker enjoyed his best-ever scoring campaign during the 2020-21 season, scoring 28 Championship goals, which has attracted the interest of Premier League outfits including West Ham United, Southampton and Norwich City.
The North-West club will be demanding £25m for Armstrong and will look to reinvest that money into finding a replacement striker, as they eye up Blackpool's Yates.
The Sun reports that Blackburn are among Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion in showing interest in the 24-year-old, who helped the Tangerines to promotion through the League One playoffs.
It is reported that Blackpool want £5m for Yates after he scored 23 goals last season, and he provided the assist for Kenneth Dougall's winning strike against Lincoln City at Wembley in May.
The Englishman still has two years left on his contract at Bloomfield Road after arriving last summer, and he has Championship experience from when he played for Rotherham United. body check tags ::
