Blackburn Rovers have reportedly submitted a late bid in the region of £5m for Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton.
The 19-year-old burst onto the scene last season with his standout display in the 4-2 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
Brereton has emerged as an eleventh-hour target for Blackburn, who missed out on Queens Park Rangers' Luke Freeman earlier on deadline day - their £4m approach thought to have been knocked back.
Sky Sports News claims that Forest have yet to respond to Blackburn's offer, and time is now massively against Tony Mowbray's side.
The Reds have also been active on the final day of the summer window by bringing in Michael Hefele on a permanent deal from Huddersfield Town.
