Middlesbrough have reportedly not given up hope of signing Blackburn Rovers forward Jordan Rhodes.
The Scottish international has been among the goals this season, netting 16 times for the Lancashire outfit.
According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn's faltering quest for playoff place may lead to Rhodes exiting Ewood Park.
Boro are hopeful that the can complete a loan deal for the 23-year-old before Thursday's deadline, with the option of a £10m permanent transfer at the end of the season.
However, the Teesside club may face competition for the player from fellow Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County, who are also interested in the forward.
Blackburn were beaten at home by Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
