Blackburn Rovers defender Jason Lowe believes that he is taking "a step in the right direction" by signing a new contract with the club.
Lowe's extended deal will see him remain at Ewood Park until 2017, and the England Under-21 international has admitted that he is delighted to commit his immediate future to the Championship outfit.
The 22-year-old told the club's official website: "I love playing here. To extend my stay again is another step in the right direction.
"I have worked hard to improve all aspects of my game and I feel that my performances this season reflect that. I will keep pushing myself to get better and to help get results for the team."
Lowe has been an ever-present in the league for Rovers this season.
