Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday night's Championship match at Bloomfield Road as down-and-out Blackpool take on Charlton Athletic.

Down-and-out Blackpool have nine more games of this season's Championship to endure before they begin life in League One and next is a visit from Charlton Athletic tomorrow night.

Following Saturday's unsurprising 4-0 loss at league leaders Bournemouth, Lee Clark's Tangerines are 18 points from safety and all but officially relegated.

With four goals going in, Blackpool have conceded 74 league goals this season, which is nine more than any other side in the top four tiers of English football.

Defeat at Dean Court also made it five straight losses and Clark's side have only found the net once in those games.

They are yet to win on their travels in the league this season, but Blackpool's form at home is better with four wins and 16 points coming at Bloomfield Road - the other two sides in the bottom three, Millwall and Wigan Athletic, have worse home records.

Jose Miguel Cubero could make his first start since September after overcoming a foot injury, while Tony McMahon isn't available as he picked up his 10th booking of the season on Saturday and starts a two-game suspension.

With Blackpool seriously on the slide, Charlton will fancy themselves to earn a sixth win in eight matches.

Guy Luzon's side have climbed from 20th to 12th place thanks to their recent points haul and 14 points now separate them from the bottom three.

Relegation is no longer a worry and Luzon can begin to think about next season because the Addicks are as far from the playoffs as they are the drop zone.

They might have improved drastically in the last month, but their three-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as Blackburn Rovers left South London with a 3-1 win.

Luzon has no new injury concerns, but he could shake up his starting XI with Chris Eagles and Joe Gomez pushing for starts.

Blackpool haven't beaten Charlton in their last six tries, but did take a point off them in a 2-2 reverse back in mid-December.

Blackpool:
