Bolton Wanderers have been refused permission to discuss their managerial vacancy with Dougie Freedman by Championship rivals Crystal Palace.
Reports earlier today claimed that Palace had granted Bolton permission to talk personal terms with their Scottish coach.
However, a short message on the club's official website this afternoon has revealed that Palace are eager to keep hold of their manager.
"Crystal Palace FC can confirm that they have received a request from Bolton Wanderers to speak to Dougie Freedman regarding their vacant managers position," read the statement. "Permission has not been granted for Dougie to speak to Bolton."
Freedman took charge of the Eagles in January 2011.
