Bordeaux have ended the season on a high after securing seventh place with a 2-1 home win over struggling Evian TG.
The home side wasted no time in taking charge as Malian striker Cheick Diabate bundled home the opening goal after five minutes.
10 minutes before half time Diabate showed a clinical touch once again to double his tally and extend Bordeaux's advantage after a dominant start.
Evian struggled for a foothold in the match but were handed a lifeline just before the break when they were awarded a penalty for a foul against Cedric Carrasso.
Yannick Sagbo converted from the spot to reduce the deficit, but Evian were unable to seize control after the break.
Both sides struggled to create chances in a scrappy second half, but Bordeaux held firm to maintain their proud home record and end a frustrating campaign on a positive note.
