High-flying Bordeaux have secured a narrow 1-0 win over Lille in this afternoon's Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas to go back to fourth place in the table.
The hosts were lively from the off, with Thomas Toure's drive in the fourth minute cannoning off the post.
Lille also enjoyed a positive spell in which Divock Origi threatened with an ambitious shot from outside the box, before Nolan Roux saw his effort blocked.
Both sides continued trading blows throughout the first half, with Roux and Cheick Diabate coming close for their respective teams.
Bordeaux, however, stepped it up in the second half and were rewarded when Diabate opened the scoring with a low shot into the bottom corner past Vincent Enyeama.
The visitors tried in vain to find an equaliser, with Simon Kjaer and Djibril Sidibe coming close, but Bordeaux were able to see the game out and secure all three points while extending Lille's winless run to six games.
