Agent Fernando Garcia has suggested that Bordeaux winger Malcom would prefer a summer switch to Italy.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Everton were in advanced talks with the Brazilian, who contributed 12 goals and seven assists in 35 outings in Ligue 1 last season.
However, a report on Thursday indicated that Roma were ready to enter the race for the 21-year-old's signature, and the player's representative has confirmed that talks will be held with the Serie A side.
Garcia told TeleRadioStereo: "In the next few hours, I'll have contact with sporting director Monchi. The player would like to come to Italy.
"How much does he cost? I just take care of the lad's contract."
Inter Milan - as well as a number of Premier League clubs - are also said to be monitoring the situation.
