Oliver Bierhoff has claimed that Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus will learn from his mistakes after he was fined for driving without a licence last week.
Reus was reportedly fined £427,000 for the incident which took place near Dortmund's training ground, but Bierhoff believes that the 25-year-old will not let the controversy have a negative impact on him.
"Marco has earned the chance to show that he has drawn the right conclusions from the whole episode and learned from his mistakes," the former Germany striker told reporters.
"When you see what is happening around players who are the subject of so much hype, from the fans, media, sponsors, then his behaviour doesn't conform the required standards. But what is important is how he deals with it.
"Players have to remember that certain values are demanded of professionals and they are role models. But then maybe we should not expect too much from people in the public eye."
Reported Real Madrid and Arsenal target Reus is currently out of action with an ankle injury.
